Can the Time Capsule be hooked up directly to my iMac and be used as a wireless network extender at the same time?
I have a Airport Express hooked to my DSL modem in another room and use my Time Capsule as network extender. The Time Capsule is in the office with my iMac. Is it possible to use the Time Capsule as a wireless network extender and also hook it up to my iMac via "hard-wire" so that I get the fastest data transfer speed available. Being that it sits right next to the iMac, I don't mind hooking it up directly to it.

I am in the Air Force and stationed in Germany at the moment. I am currently using my landlord's wireless. How can I extend it with my Time Capsule?
They only have dial-up out here, so my landlord got satellite internet. I have tried to ask them to give me a ethernet hook-up but they won't because it would be too much installation, so I have to use their internet using there wireless. I would like to pick up their wireless and rebroadcast it with my time capsule so my home network will still function without having to switch everything to their network and be able to get a stronger network and also be able to backup my iMac.

I currently use an Airport Extreme, if I get one of these , how will this fit in to my network? Can I use the AE to extend the wireless network ?
iMac 24 patched direct to Airport Extreme, Aiport Express on 1st floor, used to extend network - how best to add a Time Capsule to this wireless setup. For example, could the TC be used as the primary wireless router with the AE used to extend the network (in addition to the Express!!)?

can you have multiple time capsules on the same network?
Looking to replace my first gen Time Capsule with a newer model with more HDD and dual-band capacity. Can I keep my old TC on the network when I upgrade to the new one and put the old one in bridge mode to expand the wireless network? And can I backup to BOTh devices, either redundantly or assigning different devices to different TC’s?
In terms of dual-band, am I better off using the old TC to create a separate network for b/g devices and use the new one exclusively for n devices, or will the new one handle dual-band adequately so the b/g signals won’t slow down n devices?- Asked by Jason S from Cranbury

Setup Apple TV with Time Capsule
I have a recent iMac and Mac Notebook set up using a Time Capsule 1TB.
Both Macs can access the internet and use the Time Capsule's disk.
I now want to add Apple TV to the setup.
I'd like to use Apple TV to:
View pictures and movies stored on my Macs on my HD TV (LCD)
Is there a help document that outlines the set-up procedure using the Time Capsule wireless network?
Can screen display windows on my Mac(s) be sent to (mirrored) on the HV TV?
Can applications like Adobe Bridge be used to display images (through Apple TV) to the HD TV?
Thanks- Asked by Lewis I

Time Capsule vs my campus wireless?
I'm wondering about the automatic backup feature, primarily.
I live on a college campus with a wireless network that works just fine. In order to use the automatic backup feature of Time Capsule, would I have to disconnect from my campus wireless and connect to the time capsule (thus disabling my internet)? I'm not allowed to set up my own wireless networks, so using the Time Capsule as my wireless router point wouldn't work.- Asked by Robert S from Columbia

Can I connect computers to each-other through a time capsule to share files?.
I have an Imac connected to a Time capsule via an ethernet cable for internet, slingbox and backups and have a Macbook pro that uses the TC wireless network to connect to the internet. Both macs see the time capsule no problem, but cannot see each other. Is there a way of setting up my home network so my two computers can see each other as well as the TC?.

Would a TC solve the problem my Verizon network extender causes: iMac is very slow, gets hung up
I have a Verizon network extender and have hardly any iphone service without it. However, our iMac runs very slowly, is always hanging up and needs to be rebooted. We have 2 iphones, 2 iPads, a laptop and the iMac. Would a Time Capsule hooked to the iMac solve this problem? We disconnected the network extender, the iMac problem cleared right up, But, we cannot use our cell phones!

Using Time Capsule with an existing network
I'm wondering if the Time Capsule will be right for my home and current setup;
At the moment, my main router (with wifi) is on the ground floor. The middle floor has an ethernet switch (connected to the main router) and the top floor has an ethernet switch (connected to the switch on the middle floor).
If I connected the Time Capsule to the switch on the top floor, could I use it as a wifi hotspot? (I barely get a signal on the top floor, so it'd be great if I could)
Would I be able to access the Time Capsule backup from any floor? Even if I was connected to the main routers' wifi and not the Time Capsule wifi?
Could I connect devices by ethernet to the Time Capsule? If I do, could that device connect to all other devices on the network or just devices on the Time Capsule?
What security do I have available to stop other people on the network from accessing my backup on the Time Capsule and the settings for the Time Capsule?- Asked by Joseph H

I have a Time Capsule as the hub of my network, I have two other airport extremes connected wirelessly to bridge the network right now.
How, and what would it change if I could extend the network (bridge) over ehternet? For example, I have an ethernet port in my upstairs office, but the Time Capsule is down on the opposite end of the house in the basement (my house has 3 floors). Would it be faster, stronger, and just better to extend over ethernet?
Thank you!- Asked by Adam K from Costa Mesa

Will the time capsule function within an existing wirless network as a bridge only.
I have a very new and efficient wireless network currently, non-Mac. I would like to utilize the time capsule as a wireless backup only. If time capsule also extends the wirless range of my current network that would be a plus.

Can Time Capsule be used interchangeably with PC and Mac?
I'm looking at purchasing a Time Capsule and Mac Mini but have a few questions before I make the investment. First, would I be able to backup my files from my old desktop PC to the Time Capsule? The TC would be in an existing wireless network at one residence while backing up the PC. Then I would want to bring the TC to another residence with another existing wireless network where I would have the Mini, my iPad 2, iPhone 4 and iPod touch. If adding the TC to the second existing wireless network, would I still have the ability to wirelessly back up my Mini and iOS devices? Basically I've got an old desktop at my dad's house that I want to back up and then bring the TC to my apartment where I use my landlord's wireless Internet.

extend range
Just got a Time Capsule. Am serving up WiFi for a main building and a guest house, which are about 30 feet away from each other.
How Can I extend the range of the signal by using a separate 802.11n capable router? My intention is to use the second router to 'Join' the existing network, and there by extending the range- Asked by Ron D from Albuquerque
