Can I connect the Time Capsule to an existing router through ethernet?
I want to use it for a time machine back up, but I already have a wireless router and don't want to use the time capsule as my router. Can I just plug it into the back of my router through ethernet and have it work the same way?

Can I use the time capsule as a wifi ethernet bridge? TC connects wirelessly to another router and enables internet via ethernet cable?
I have an existing cheap wifi router that works (frankly better than the TC which frequently refuses connections to PCs). I want to connect the time capsule to that wifi network wirelessly, but then connect the TC to my xbox 360 via ethernet cable so I can stream netflix. Does the TC do that? How would I set that up?

time capsule without ethernet cable
Does the Time Capsule require a cable from the ethernet modem? I have a wireless network and I would like to hide the Time Capsule away from the wireless modem (so it does not get stolen when someone nicks my computer). So, does time capsule wirelessly integrate into my existing wireless network?

Can I connect computers to each-other through a time capsule to share files?.
I have an Imac connected to a Time capsule via an ethernet cable for internet, slingbox and backups and have a Macbook pro that uses the TC wireless network to connect to the internet. Both macs see the time capsule no problem, but cannot see each other. Is there a way of setting up my home network so my two computers can see each other as well as the TC?.

Is there a way to connect my time capsule to the hotspot created by my iphone 5 on the LTE network (I have no ethernet cable for DSL/WAN)
I have read that the airport express may be able to be used as the wireless bridge (connect to the iphone hotspot and then into the TC) but I can't find a definitive answer. If the AE can do it I would have thought the TC could but I can't find a way.
Internet is only provided by LTE through Iphone 5
I want to use my TC as a source for ethernet and extend/or create wifi
I need to get an ethernet connection for two home theater products that don't support wifi- Asked by Brad T from Saskatoon

Can I configure an NAS to attach via ethernet to Time Capsule. Which suggested NAS if true. (I need lots of space for 'Camera Raw' photos)
Currently have a 1/2 TB Time Capsule on the local network. Rather than attach yet another USB storage device to this iMac, I'd like to attach a 2TB NAS (Network Access Storage) device via ethernet cable to the Time Capsule and have use the NAS to off-load photos from all the computers on our local network. This iMac is connected via ethernet to the Time Capsule. Any suggestions on how to make this happen including suggested NAS would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom- Asked by Thomas P from Houston

Can the Time Capsule share the Internet connection from a cable modem (plugged into TC's WAN port) to other computers via Ethernet?
In other words: can I setup TC as an Internet Sharing device for the rest of the network via Ethernet? (similar to what Windows Internet Connection Sharing does)
My cable modem would plug in to the TC WAN port and I'm hoping I can set the TC up so it shares the cable modem's Internet connection to the rest of the network. The purpose being that I don't have a router (the cable modem has no router capability) and thus far I had to use a computer running 24/7 to share the internet connection.- Asked by Steffen I

Can the time capsule be connected to a hard wired ethernet network to act as a wireless access point?
I have an n-wireless router connected to a cable modem. My bedroom is in a deadspot, but I have a wired ethernet connection close by. I've tried a wireless range expander and that won't get it there.(I have an 18" concrete wall it is trying to penetrate)

What to do with an ethernet cable if I want my TC to be my second router and my first one has just one ethernet port?
I use mac mini with external RAID as a server/seedbox for streaming/p2p and I need most of my 100Mbit speed left with my mac mini. Now I want to buy TC for backup and my music lybrary storage and I'd like it to create a wireless network at home for my laptops and iMac.
I heard that it's dangerous for TC if it's the ethernet cable is plugged into it and 24/7 let's data go through (2-5 MB per second). I'd like to 'save' my TC and connect the cable directly to the mac mini, hence it has all the speed and load. Then I'd like somehow to connect TC to mac mini to create a wireless network for the whole house (mac mini has only one ethernet port)
How to connect TC to mac mini without all the data streaming through TC in such a way that TC becomes a WiFi access point for other macs or what to do with the cable (how to properly divide it into two to plug both in TC and mac mini)?- Asked by Ivan S from New York

Will Time Capsule do automatic backups if it is connected via ethernet cable into a Verizon FiOS router, instead of using WiFi?
We're doing away with WiFi in our house and going with ethernet wired locations. Can I connect our Time Capsule to one of the ports in our Verizon FiOS router, then connect three Macs into the same router (using the other three ports), and expect the Time Capsule to perform the same automatic backup functions that it does in its wireless mode?

What if I don't have wireless?
I have a MacBook I want to backup my data for, but I don't have wireless internet at home. Could I connect the Time Capsule to my computer rather than using a wireless signal? (I realize doing this would eliminate the "automatic" feature because I would have to connect it each time)

I have a Time Capsule as the hub of my network, I have two other airport extremes connected wirelessly to bridge the network right now.
How, and what would it change if I could extend the network (bridge) over ehternet? For example, I have an ethernet port in my upstairs office, but the Time Capsule is down on the opposite end of the house in the basement (my house has 3 floors). Would it be faster, stronger, and just better to extend over ethernet?
Thank you!- Asked by Adam K from Costa Mesa

Can I wirelessly backup/store files from my Mac on a Time Capsule without connecting it to a router or is it mandatory for this feature?
I want a Time Capsule just to back up the files on my MacBook and use it for extra storage. I do not want to print from it, or back up multiple computers, or anything else. Do I need to connect it to my router just to back up my laptop?
