Can I make a backup of my TimeCapsule backup?
The issue I'm wanting to avoid is loss of data if I lose both the computer and the Time Capsule (i.e. fire or theft). So can I attach an external hd to the Time Capsule and set it to make backups of the Time Capsule backup. I would then rotate external hard drives, keeping one locked in a fireproof safe or off-site. Or is there another way to achieve this?

Can "Time Machine" use the internal 2-TB drive in a Timecapsule to backup an external 1-TB USB Disk that is connected to Timecapsule?
The intent is to use the external 1-TB USB disk as NAS to store large seldom needed files vs. keeping them on a Apple Laptop.
The Timecapsule will serve two purposes.
1) Serve as the access point for the 1-TB USB NAS disk for the wireless connected Apple Laptop.
2) Serve as a backup point with its internal 2-TB via "Time Machine" for both the wireless connected Apple laptop and the external 1-TB USB disk.
"Time Machine" running on the Apple laptop would be tasked with backing up the Laptop's internal 300-GB disk and the 1-TB USB NAS disk to the Timecapsule's internal 2-TB disk.- Asked by Jeff S from Bartlesville

Can I plug an external HardDrive into the USB port of the TC and have both the TC drive AND the external drive to share on my network?
My plan it to be able to redundantly back up my computers (3 of them). The first back-up using the TimeMachine software and the TimeCapsule. The second doing it manually to the attached external drive and hopefully wirelessly. I am trying to avoid the need to physically attrach an external HD to my computers to achieve the second redundant back-up.

Transferring Time Machine backups
I'm currently using a 2TB Seagate external hard drive for my Mac backups. Love the simplicity and integration of the 2TB Time Capsule. But will I be able to transfer my old Time Machine backups?

Is there a bare metal type recovery with Time Machine+TimeCapsule so I can completely recover a lost disk drive?
With some backup technologies you have a bootable CD that you can boot with and then do a complete recovery (Windows Home Server has this for PC's, for instance). Can I do that or similar with Time Machine and Time Capsule?

Can I use the TimeCapsule as the wifi medium to transmit a signal from my mac to my wifi enabled big screen TV to be used as an external monitor?
I have an HDTV that is wifi enabled and I would like to use it as an external monitor to either my mac air or my mac desktop without the need to connect to it using cables. It appears any wifi-enabled device can connect to the Capsule via wifi. Now my question is: would I be able to use the Time Capsule something like a "bridge" or connecting point of communication between my macs and my wifi-enabled tv to use my TV as an external monitor from anywhere in my house? I would really like to be able to get rid of the need to use an HDMI or any other cable to connect my mac to the tv.

Can you backup your time capsule using an external USB Hard disk?
I have seen a lot of complaints about time capsule drive failures and the total loss of the data in it. I'm pretty sure this ISN'T possible, but it's a feature I'd love to see: The ability to backup your time capsule to an external Hard disk via USB, or even write to a DVD using airdrive.
Basically, can you mirror your time capsule with an external hard disk?
Thanks.- Asked by Matthew C from Wakefield
