My current Wireless is a Netgear hub , and my internet arrives on a Telephone modem type plug, not Ethernet plug, can I still use this product
I want to get rid of my Netgear hub as I have issue with loosing my internet connection regularly and having to switch it off and back on, so I think it is the hub itself.

I need 16 ethernet 1000 ports AND dualband wireless G/N. How to expand the AirPort Extreme Base Station to give 13 more ethernet for onlineLANparty?
We regularly host LAN parties, most of which are wired through a hub and are off-line. However, more and more games are requiring that each PC be connected to STEAM and/or LIVE so we are looking for a solution where we can have 16 wired computers running at the same time, PLUS we want to have the flexibility to connect to the same network via wireless G or N.
The AirPort Extreme Base Station appears to be the perfect choice for the wireless aspect, but it only has 3 ethernet 1000 ports. Most other options only have 4. Is there a way for us to expand the number of ethernet 1000 ports on the AirPort Extreme Base Station?
We will further use this to connect PCs on CAT5e cables throughout our home. We have a dedicated Windows XP PC hooked up to the TV for Netflix and music (work) stations in the kitchen and two bedrooms, so we want those to be wired into 4 of the 16 wired ports.
I would guess that I could just plug a hub into one of the ethernet ports, but I don't know if that would get all the HUBbed PCs onto the internet or not.- Asked by Ben B from Casper

Can I connect my smart TV to an Airport Extreme with an ethernet cable?
I want to buy a new router to extend my current network and also to plug in my iMac and LG Smart TV via the ethernet ports as we are looking at connecting to the NBN. Would I be able to connect my TV to the Airport via ethernet, and would i be able to plug a switch into one of the ports if I have the need to plug in more than 3 devices?

Does the Airport Extreme have any capability of sending wireless signal to a computer that is not capable of wireless?
I have a ZyXEL wireless base station on the middle ground of my house. It is currently powering my MacBook with wireless signal on the upper floor, as well as a Dell that does not have any wireless capability but yet the ZyXEL station came with a wireless USB plug-in so the computer has access to wireless signal. The only problem is, this wireless system really horrible. I get absolutely horrible signal on the Dell and ok signal on the MacBook and I want to switch to something better so I can get great signal strength, since I play online games. Is there any way this Airport Extreme or even Express can some how power my Dell computer down stairs without having something being plugged in, because the Dell is positioned where there are no cable jacks of any sort or even power plug ports.

Currently I have Qwest DSL and a Motorola 3347 wireless router. What's best way to replace the router with an Airport Extreme?
The Motorola router is getting rather unreliable. Qwest says the DSL signal is OK. I'm wondering whether I should get a basic Qwest wired router and then plug the Airport Extreme into it, or whether the Motorola router could serve as a basic modem with the wireless turned off (which I don't know how to do).

Should I get an AirPort Extreme, and will it interfere with a 2WIRE wireless router?
I am wondering too if it will support an internet connection to a Windows 7 upgraded (from Vista) PC and a Nintendo Wii console. On my existing wireless router, would I simply plug the AirPort into a normal ethernet port or the WAN port?

I currently have a Comcast wireless internet service, thus there is no modem - is it possible to set up the Extreme to receive wireless signal?
The HOA installed a Comcast wireless internet network in our condo complex, and thus there are no modems used, as was the case with the previous DSL network now disconnected.
My questions are:
1. Can the Airport Extreme receive the Comcast wireless internet signal?
2. Want to continue using wireless printer connected to the USB port on the Extreme.
3. How to set it up? Do I need some info from Comcast for the set up?
Please advise.- Asked by Paul H from San Mateo

Will AirPort Extreme take my dongle so I can use is wirelessly?
I have a dongle for my mobile internet, but as I have a MacBook Air it only has one USB port so it causes a few problems using the internet and trying the sync my iPhone. If I get the AirPort Extreme can I plug the dongle into that and then connect to the internet through that?
Any help would be great.

I currently plug my office IP phone directly into my NETGEAR router. Can I use an Airport Express to extend the signal to another room?
Right now I'm limited in that my office IP phone is hard wired and plugged into the back of a NETGEAR wireless router. I'm wondering if I can extend my wireless internet signal into another room in the house with the Airport Express, and hard wire the Ethernet cable into the Airport Express from the IP phone which needs a direct "hard" connection?

can airport extreme act as wireless antenna for G5?
Instead of installing an antenna into an older PowerMac G5 to give it wireless connectivity, I'd much rather use an Airport Extreme if possible, to attach to my current network wirelessly and plug into the G5 via Ethernet cable. Is this possible?

Will Airport Extreme Base Increase my file transfer and streaming speed
I have an older Verizon Wireless Router that connects all the devices including the verizon services. Will an Airport Extreme Base Station increase my file transfer and viewing from my Mac Mini to Macbook? Is it best to connect to the internet router (verizon) via an ethernet cable or wireless? Would more memory on the Mac Mini increase the file display speed?

Can an ethernet port linkup on the extreme base station be used for a 3TB 'Home Network Hard Drive' in the same way the USB port makes HD's wireless?
I would like to use a 3TB 'Home Network Drive' for streaming my movies and music over my wireless network. It uses an ethernet cable to transfer data (much faster than USB 2.0), and would work by plugging it into my Extreme Base Station's spare ethernet port. Will Airport Utility immediately recognise it as a Hardrive?- or is the Extreme Base Station restricted to only ready Hard Drives via the USB port? Thanks alot!
