With 11n AP Extreme and 11n AP Express 50 feet away, will the 11g Macs connect automatically to the 11g signal?
My DSL + AP Extreme (new 11n version) is in my office, 50 ft. from the house. My house computers are all 11g, so will the newest AP Express with 11n work...and will those 11g Macs still connect at 11g speeds? I'm mainly wanting to do this so the fastest possible speed will be in the house.

Can the Airport Extreme be an access point in a 11g network while maintaining and routing 11n traffic to the 11g router connected to the internet?
I have a linksys 54gl wireless router as the foundation of my current home network. I still have some devices that only support 11g but more and more support 11n. I want to stream video content to my bluray player (LG390) so I'm thinking I'd hardwire it to an 11n router (like the AE) with either a usb drive or NAS attached to it for all of the video content. I'd update the storage via the 11n wireless connection from my iMac but would also want my Mac to be able to get out to the internet on the 11g router. Would AE be able to act as a 11n access point for the 11n devices and router to the 11g network for internet access and access from the 11g devices?

Can I add my existing D-Link DGS-2208 Switch one of the 3 lan ports?
Currently I have a D-Link DGL-4300 router with a D-Link DGS-2208 switch which connects 5 Windows/Linux machine to the network. I have several PC Laptops that connect wireless (801.11g only). I have recently added an iMac 27 i5 that now is running 801.11g. I want more wireless speed for the iMac (801.11n) BUT I want to retain my wired network! I am thinking I can replace the D-Link router with the AirPort Extreme Base Station and ONLY have to re-configure the iMac.
Is this reasonable?- Asked by James G from Billerica

If I get an airport extreme 802.11n as a wireless modem for a new i-mac, will it work with my old extreme 802.11G with 2 printers connected?
If I connect a new i-mac wirelessly to a new airport extreme 802.11n, then put my old airport extreme 802.11g in a different room with my 2 printers plugged into it. Will the new i-mac be able to send to the printers?

Will the Airport Extreme 802.11n service both 802.11g and 802.11n AIrport Expresses simultaneously? Will it be at the slower "g" speed"
My old Extreme is starting to falter (occasional reset required), and my new Tivo would benefit from a faster net connection, so a new AIrport Extreme would be nice. But, I still have devices that are not 802.11n (old MacBook...) that use the wireless network. So, if I am using my laptop ( 802.11g) will my Tivo (connected to an Airport Expresss, upgraded to 802.11n) be running at "g" levels?

Can I connect my macbook Air (2010 model) at 300mb and my iphone 3GS to this simultaneously without a drop in performance?
I have read that connecting a 802.11g device to a 802.11n router will slow down the 802.11n to 802.11g speeds.
Therefore my macbook air will not achieve the rated 300mb speed, as the iphone 3gs will be slowing it down.
Is that true for the Airport extreme base station??- Asked by Phil S

If I broadcast to both a 11N device on the 5 gHz band and to a 11G device on the 2.4 gHz band, will I be able to see a networked printer on both?
I currently use a 11G Linksys router used to serve a wired iMac, a wired HP printer, a wireless 12 inch Powerbook (which I believe is limited to 11G), and a wireless MacBook capable of 11N speeds. I understand the the Apple Extreme router will serve the MacBook at 11N speeds while also serving the Powerbook at 11G speed. Will I be able to see all devices on both the 11G and 11N sides of the router including being able to print from all devices to the wired HP printer?

Can I turn off 802.11n and just use 802.11g on Airport Extreme?
My wireless ISP uses unlicensed 5GHz radios to distribute internet connectivity throughout our neighborhood. They say 802.11n routers using 5GHz frequencies interfere with their unlicensed radios and do not want them used. Can I turn off the 802.11n radio in Airport Extreme and just use the 802.11g radio as to not introduce interference?

How can you connect APE connect to an Orange Livebox Mini wifi router to take advantage of the APE wider network or should you just use APE only?
I have Orange livebox mini, can I connect it to APE via ethernet and still have the performance capabilities of the APE fully, 2 band widths more connectivity (upto 50 claimed?) etc. and still have the same Wifi speed connection.
Or would I need to replace the Livebox completely with the APE to get the best results. If so how would I do this, bearing in mind I am a complete layman and as such would probably be stumbling in the dark trying to achieve this. Hope someone out there can help, thanks.- Asked by Bev D

How fast has your LAN data transfer rate been with this device?
I currently have a D-Link Gigabit router and I my data transfer rate within my home network (not Wi-Fi) is pretty weak, unable to get past the 3mb/second rate using Cat6 cables. I'm thinking of getting this product both for WiFi and also local networking. I'm wondering what speeds have you seen with this device when transferring to and from other local computers or network storage.

Possible to use older Airport Express with new Airport Extreme?
I have an older 802.11a/b/g Airport Express connected to a D-Link router and a Comcast modem. I'd like to upgrade to an Airport Extreme for the faster 802.11n speeds and to get rid of the D-Link. Can I then connect the older Airport Express to my stereo system across the room and wirelessly stream music to it? I'm concerned it may not be backward compatible as it only uses 802.11a/b/g and the newer Airport Express is 802.11n - will that be a problem?
