Does the new AEBS support any type of QoS (quality of service) prioritization?
The spec page doesn't list it, but I'm hoping it has some support for QoS, mainly for better VoIP calling. The current models have terrible support for wi-fi VoIP calling.

My mini's airport extreme does not work. Can I substitute the base station or do I have to cure the mini/airport problem first?
I currently use a wired network connect my Mini to the internet and to share the internet connection with my wife's PC. I use a wireless network to sync my Ipod Touch and BlackBerry Storm with the Mini. The Mini wifi, for unknown reasons, recently quit working so I can't sync my wireless devices via the Mini.
Questions: Using the AEBS does the internet connection with mini have to be wireless or could it be wired (since the mini's airport is not working) and everything else wireless? (modem-AEBS-Mini wireless devices) OR do I have to cure the Mini problem and then go wireless? (modem-AEBS Mini and wireless devices). (The hyphens represent wires, the spaces wireless.)
I am new at wifi networks so I may be going about this in exactly the wrong way.- Asked by Donald S from Spokane

Can I setup AEBS and my Mac to use only 5Ghz band?
I understand that the 802.11N standard has more performance using the 5Ghz band. I want my MacBookPro to use that band, and other devices such us iPod and iPhone or PC use 2.4Ghz.

Does Back to My Mac hard drive access work if the AEBS is in bridge mode?
As a FiOS user, the modem is a router itself. This presents unpleasant double NAT complications. I thought about putting the AEBS into Bridge mode, but I've read this disables the ability to remotely access the attached hard drive (as well as use Wake on Demand). Is this true?

Is this better than the new BT Home Hub?
I have the new BT Home Hub - the one they advertise as having "our best ever wireless signal" and "detect and avoid wifi interference through our smart wifi technology". However, I already have an AirPort Extreme from a previous setup. Which is the better wifi base station?

Does the new Airport Extreme support QoS?
I know the older models did not support QoS, but am very hopeful the new model will. To be more specific, I believe the protocol is 802.11e, and allows a user to give priority to VoIP and internet-related calling. Having this feature would allow VoIP users like myself to use T-Mobile UMA calling and traditional VoIP services without being choppy or suffer from latency.

I'm new to MAC so pardon the dumb question :-)
I currently pay for High Speed internet though my cable company (in which I have a modem). So you mean to tell me, if I buy the Airport Extreme Base Station, load the software, and I will magically have wireless internet in my apartment? If so, thats fantastic because im tired of dragging this ethernet cable half way across my living room to get the internet on my new mac book.
I would appreciate any help. As I said, I am new to MAC, but so far I am LOVING IT..

Possible to use older Airport Express with new Airport Extreme?
I have an older 802.11a/b/g Airport Express connected to a D-Link router and a Comcast modem. I'd like to upgrade to an Airport Extreme for the faster 802.11n speeds and to get rid of the D-Link. Can I then connect the older Airport Express to my stereo system across the room and wirelessly stream music to it? I'm concerned it may not be backward compatible as it only uses 802.11a/b/g and the newer Airport Express is 802.11n - will that be a problem?
