Can I use this cable with my mac laptop to connect to television and Bose speakers?

With this cable connector, would I be able to stream Netflix movies from my iPad Mini?

I would obviously buy the lightening to 30pin adapter to connect the cable. What I want to do is just watch Netflix with my iPad but see it on the tv, or play games and see it on the tv. Thanks!

Would this not work with the 4th gen Ipad if you also used the pin to lighting adapter? Iwould like to view my down loaded movie on my TV.

Is the AV output an extension of the iPad screen (like how the HD-DVI is for the Macbook Pro), or does it just transfer the image to the television?
