Will adding a 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 ECC SDRAM and a 2GB 1333MHz DDR3 ECC SDRAM work and give me 6GB in the same Macbook Pro?
I am planning on buying a Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.4GHz Dual-core Intel i5, the comes with 4GB (2 x 2GB) of 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM but I want to boost the RAM by removing one of the 2GB and adding a 4GB. Will this my new configuration work and will all the RAM (6GB) be available for my applications (Specifically Cinema4D and HD Video Editing with Premier).

You have 2 options for SDRAM, a 4G and a 1G. I have a MacBook, version 10.6.4. The manual says I can add 2-2G modules. My question: Will the 4G work?
What exactly is installed in my MacBook to begin with? 2-1G modules, or 1-2G module? Could I install one 4G module and call it good? Can I boost it to 8G?
