I plan to eventually make the switch to Snow Leopard, but I'm really just looking for a quick fix right now. I got a new iPod Touch and I need safari 4 for it to let me sync my pictures.

If I have Mac OS X 10.5.8 do I need Snow Leopard and Lion to make the new iPhone 4S and my Mac run iCloud?
I just got the iphone 4S and took it in to the Apple store for set-up. The store is over an hour away from my home so I'm quite surprised they didn't tell me I needed these software updates to run iCloud.

My Imac is Mac OSX Version 10.5.8 Would I benefit by upgrading to Snow Leopard, or have I already got it.
My system does not give the software a "Leopard" name ? just OSX 10.5.8 ?
Also, as an old Windows user, I would like to install Microsoft Word. How cheaply can I achieve this - I presume it's not included with the Snow Leopard upgrade that I am considering ?
Please advise.- Asked by Christopher W
