Upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard require a clean install?

Macbook 13inch with Intel processor about 6mo old with ver 10.5.8 Tiger installed. Will a clean install be required, or does the standard install leave applications and data and just remove the old version and replace with the new 10.6 Snow Leopard version of the OSX?

If I have leopard installed, can I download mountain lion from a friends computer using my own apple id, and do a clean install on my own computer?

I friend of mine has leopard installed to his laptop. Can he skip the upgrades to snow leopard and lion by downloading mountain lion from my computer using his own apple id to do a clean install on his own laptop?

Why upgrade from leopard to an outdated snow leopard operating system, then to another outdated lion, when he can just do a clean install of mountain lion over his previous leopard?

My thinking was he could download mountain lion thru apple from my computer using his own apple id, then do a clean install of mountain lion over leopard on his own computer.

OS X Tiger to OS X Snow Leopard

I have a MacBook (Black) with Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz. How can I upgrade my OS to Snow Leopard?. Can I just purchase the Snow Leopard Disc and perform a clean install?

If i install 10.6 can i do a clean install? I want to erase everthing and start over

I currently have 10.6.8 I bought this computer from a friend he didnt have any discs so i was able to remove the name of the computer but he still shows up in the home section. I would like to do a clean install and wanted to know if i purchase the online snow leopard if that will do a clean install or only a upgrade.
If not i will go to an apple store to get what i need

Can i upgrade to snow leopard will i still retain the iLife. does my macbook qualifies for the new upgrade?

I had bought macbook 13 inch plastic version entry level in may 09 which shipped with leopard 10.5.8, it came with 2 discs one of it is the Mac OS leopard disc what does the second disc consists? the second disc states macbook applications install dvd with some AHT version on it does this disc contains iLife? I checked my existing programs i have Photo, iMovie, GarageBand, iWeb, and iDVD which means i have iLife. So now the million dollar question if i buy just the Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard OS worth 48$ will i still be able to retain my existing iLife. I want to do a clean install if i buy the new OS. does iLife comes builtin inside the new OS?

Is it necessary to remove programs like Photoshop CS4, Cocktail, Microsoft Office 08, earth browser, etc. prior to installation of snow leopard, and then reinstall these programs once snow leopard is installed? What are the pros and cons?

Installing Leopard without a Disc Drive

I'd like to upgrade to Snow Leopard from 10.5.8 (old I know), but the disc drive in my laptop went kaput a long time ago. What are my options for installing Snow Leopard without a functional disc drive?

OS X Snow Leopard Upgrade for multiple computers.

I have an iMac and a Macbook that need upgrading to Snow Leopard. Do I need to purchase 2 Snow Leopard DVD packages? Is there a family pack available? There is no description of the license requirements for Snow Leopard on the Apple Store page. (In fact, it's difficult to find Snow Leopard in the store at all!)
