My wife's MacBook is running Tiger 10.4.11. As I understand it, I need to first upgrade to Snow Leopard. Disc drive doesn't work. How 2 upgrade?

I can purchase Snow Leopard from Apple, but can I install the OS by using a second MacBook's DVD drive using a firewire?

Can I install the the iMac OS X install DVD in my MacBook Pro, or I must use the MacBook Pro installer DVD?

I do have one intel MacBook Pro with the OS 10.4.11 yet. As I was told, I must updade my software to OS 10.5 leopard before install the 10.6 Snow Leopard.
My brother just bought a iMac and it comes with the Mac OS 10.5.6 DVD installer. Can use this iMac DVD on my MacBook Pro?

Installing Leopard without a Disc Drive

I'd like to upgrade to Snow Leopard from 10.5.8 (old I know), but the disc drive in my laptop went kaput a long time ago. What are my options for installing Snow Leopard without a functional disc drive?

Does the install dvd for snow leopard come with all the original ilife apps?

i plan on upgrading to snow leopard from leopard, but threw the past year doing various things i ended up losing garageband and imovie


i purchased and install disk for mac os x 10.5 but since i already had it i couldnt install it and that disk didnt have garageband on it

also to my current knowledge i cant install any apps without the mac store and cant install the mac store without snow leopard so for that im thankful that either way ill be able to reinstall garageband

Is snow leopard a multilingual on the UK-DVD?

As I am a German living in the UK, I'd buy it in the UK. But I want to install it in German on my MacBook.

Can I install10.6 to a clean drive...

Im running 10.5 on my main drive on a Mac Pro. I dont want to changeanything.

However, I need 10.6 to run Bootcamp and 3DS Max. Id like to set this up on a fresh disk and not change my primary disk. Is the 'update disk' able to do this....
