How to or does the new apple remote work on the newest 2012 mac pro with a 27inch mac thunderbolt monitor?

i have a brand new 2012 mac pro, with a 27inch thunderbolt monitor - it came with a remote... i was wondering if the remote will work with this product, and if yes - how to sync it with my tower, cannot seem to find the IR.

Will this Apple remote work with Windows 7?

I use MacBook Pro with duel OS, one for Mac OS and one for Windows 7 using BootCamp. The Apple Remote can properly work on Mac OS but not on Windows 7. Is there any solution to let it work?

I already have an apple remote for my existing macbook 13" (Bought Feb 08)
I will be ordering a new macbook pro soon, can I use my existing remote or will I need another one? especially since I won't be using them at the same time!

Do you have to have a Mac computer to use the remote?

I wanted to get the Apple Remote for my boyfriend as a Christmas gift. He has an iHome, an iPod, and an iPhone, but he does not have a Mac computer. Will the remote work on the apple devices he has if he does not have a Mac?
