Can I start tv shows on iPod classic when used with the IR docking station or does it start only music like the old remote?
With the old remote I have to start tv shows on my iPod classic manually at my iPod even when it is connected to the docking station. It would be nice if this remote allows me to scroll down in the menu to tv shows and start them with the remote.

Will this remote work while playing music in my car?
I have an iPod touch 8GB plugged into my car radio. But my car is a 2002 SC430 and I have no controls. Will this remote alow me to start, go to the next song, stop, adjust the volume - while playing the music through my car radio?

Will the remote work on a Sony Apple iPod Dock, providing it has the IR transmitor?
I have the new sony muteki home theatre sytem, and i bought the ipod dock for it.

Will this remote work on any universal dock or just newer ones?
I have an older universal iPod dock, just one of those little all white ones, and it has an IR sensor on it, but will this remote still work with it? I wasn't sure if this remote would work or not, I don't want to waste my money on it if it only works with newer model docks.

Where's the IR receiver on the iTouch? I don't know where I'm suppose to point my remote when I try to pair it.
I'm pointing the remote directly at the screen of my iPod Touch, and holding down "Right" and "Menu" like the manual says. I'm just not sure where I'm suppose to point it, I don't know where the IR receiver is . Can you help me out?

does the iHome has and ir receiver and will it work with the apple remote
I got and iHome for christmas and i decided to buy the apple remote so while i was cleaning and stuff like that i could change the song. So im wondering if the apple remote will work with the iHome and if so can you please tell me how and, how would you know when it was synced with the iHome?

Can I use the remote with my iPhone docked in other docks, like in the Bose radio or the XM Skydock?
After reading the description in the Apple Store, I was just wondering if the remote could control my iPhone when it is docked in my Bose radio or even in my XM Skydock. It would make using the iPhone from across the room a whole lot easier.

What's the signal strength compare to the old white one?
I have the older white remote, using it in my car with an Universal Dock.
I put my dock in the glovebox and with current white remote, if I aim at the crack, it will work. Does the aluminum one offers better signal strength? If it's better, i will get one.- Asked by Jeff K from Cupertino

Does the new remote now allow me to remotely navigate and choose movies / shows / podcast episodes from my sofa? or just pause/play/playlist nav?
For example, right now I'm watching an episode of The Totally Rad Show on my TV via an old iphone and a universal doc but I cannot use my existing remote to select a movie or TV show to watch. Does this change with the new remote?
