What is the working distance, when in line of sight, compared to 1st gen remote?
I am using a 1st gen with an iphone on apple dock and I have only, say, 6ft (2 meters) of working distance. Is this correct?

Where's the IR receiver on the iTouch? I don't know where I'm suppose to point my remote when I try to pair it.
I'm pointing the remote directly at the screen of my iPod Touch, and holding down "Right" and "Menu" like the manual says. I'm just not sure where I'm suppose to point it, I don't know where the IR receiver is . Can you help me out?

So it has to be the universal dock, any kind of iHome won't work?
It specificaly has to be the universal dock even if my iHome has an IF reciever? And why doesn't Apple have a remote that can control the iTouch without having to use any kind of docking?

Will this remote work with 80gb Ipod classic 6th gen?
Had a 40gb Classic 5th gen I used while traveling by car that connects to the car stereo with a cassette and is kept charged thru a plug into the cigarette lighter. This new 6th gen does not have where to plug in the remote..
