how to activate usb ports on 27" cinema display
I tried to attach keyboard and trackball to the usb ports on the back of the display, but they don't work. The display is hooked up to a miniport on a Mac Pro purchased in September 2010.

i know it charges them but can it display them and if so do to have to control from the ipod or ipad or can you use the mouse

Will this Apple LED Cinema Display function as a display if placed as the terminal device along a Thunderbolt daisy chain?
i.e. if I currently own a 24" or 27" LED Cinema Display connected via MDP, and this fall obtain an Apple Thunderbolt Display and connect it to a Thunderbolt-compatible Mac, can the older model still be used? Or do both external monitors have to be the Thunderbolt model?

Will this display or a future one offer Thunderbolt support?
I would like to use such a display as a complete docking station. Will such a display offer the ability to pass that signal through to an additional device? The current cable would not be conducive to a secondary device between laptop and display.

With the magsafe and the mini-display being on opposite side on the MacAir, how does the combined usb/mini-display/magsafe cable works ?
The picture presented of the new display are not very clear. It looks like there would not be enough 'free' cable to connect both the magsafe andthe mini-display on a MacAir

Can you use one cinema display with a late 2008 Macbook Pro AND a PC with display port connection?

Apple new LED 27 inch cinema dispolay. Can it be connected to any (non apple) PC.
Can you hook up using the apple converting plug( accessory - ending in a DVI connector) to a standard PC like a new Dell XPS 9100. If you can is the performance similar to having it connected to an Apple product. Further can the camera and the usb accessory connectors on the display also be utilized wuith a standard Windows t 64 bit pc (NOT via bootcamp)

What is the differnce between the Apple LED Cinema Display (27" flat panel) and the Apple Thunderbolt Display (27-inch)?
I have a 2010 MacbbokPro without Thunderbolt.
Questions:
- Does the Thunderbolt port provide superior data transfer rates to the other ports? I presume the answer is "yes"
- If in future I upgrade to a new MacbookPro with Thunderbolt, can the Cinema Display (currently with only USB ports) also be upgraded to accept Thunderbolt? I suspect the answer is "no"- Asked by Rajiv C
