Does this design not have too many flaws?
I really like the look of this display and would be tempted to shell out for it, but it seems quite ill-conceived, maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong but:
A) I have a Macbook and a Mac Pro, and would like to use this as my main monitor when I'm at home and switch between the two computers. The lack of connectivity on the back panel (just the triple cable coming out) means that I'm supposed to scramble around under my desk (if the cable even reaches that far!) to swap the display from Mac Pro to the Macbook every time? Would two triple cables have been that hard to include or at least a multiplexing box available on the website?
B) As far as I understand the display won't even work with my Late 2008 Macbook anyway because it's now old and irrelevant at two and a half years old?! And this is the only external display on offer on the Apple website?
C) There is no On/Off button, so if I'm working on the Mac Pro and want to leave it processing/downloading something whilst I go away for an hour, I'm
supposed to get down underneath the desk and bang my head again to unplug it? The only way around this I can see is setting one corner to Sleep Display in Exposé, but I don't really want to do this because I'll keep hitting that corner and sleeping it by accident?
D) Not really a question but I always like to finish with a negative; the lack of a matte option is disappointing.- Asked by Fred M from Litchborough

Does this have a matte screen or is it glossy?
Glossy screens are pretty & great for gaming but I am a designer. I do not want to see my reflection in my work. This is why I have passed on the 24" Apple monitor & bought one from La Cie, The price is great on this monitor- if it is matte I will surely buy this as my main monitor & use my La Cie as my second monitor.

Reasons to get this display instead of another (cheaper) brand to pair with Macbook Pro (to answer IT purchasers in my org).
I would like to get the 27" cinema display to pair with a new macbook pro that will double as my desktop and mobile computer. I am being asked why my org should spend so much more for a display when there are other monitors available. I have a couple of reasons (easy connection, recharge as soon as it's connected instead of using sep cord, Thunderbolt), but it comes down to preferring Apple/Apple products and using things that were designed to go together, which my IT manager completely rejects.
