Does this have a matte screen or is it glossy?

Glossy screens are pretty & great for gaming but I am a designer. I do not want to see my reflection in my work. This is why I have passed on the 24" Apple monitor & bought one from La Cie, The price is great on this monitor- if it is matte I will surely buy this as my main monitor & use my La Cie as my second monitor.

Would be nice for work. Is there an antiglare version?

Or at least an antiglare cover? I can't use a glossy screen fifty hours a week. That's why I bought a MacBook Pro.

can i have multi screens running on one monitor?

using the 27" screen I was wanting to have mulit screens running on the one monitor.
i.e.: Outlook email in one corner. internet web page another corner. Excel another corner.
and another application running in the other corner. then the ability to select one of the applications and have it full screen and then ability to put it back to original corner.
And /or ability to select any one of the applicatiions and work within the corner?

this ability would save the need for multi monitors and just use one large monitor to operate multiiple applications at the same time..

My MacBook Pro 3.1 from '08 doesn't have a mini display port. Are there adapters which would allow my laptop to work w/ this display?

Do I need a new video card?

I'm running a dual quad (Xeon processor) Mac Pro with NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT currently using 2 x 23" cinema displays and would like to upgrade to the new 27" screens which I've had for a while.... do I need a new video card for the new screens or is there an adapter that I can pick up so I can use the existing card?

Why is this so expensive if it's just a display?

I'm just wondering, does this have any other uses? i.e can I use it as a TV?
This is NOT a stupid question - think about it - it is a THOUSAND dollars, and it's just a display, a big shiny tv. Without ANY other purpose. You can get 50" plasma/LED Smart tvs for that amount of money!
Can this be used for anything else? I'm NOT buying it if it's just a screen.

Why not throw an extra $700 and buy the 27" iMac instead? I'm looking for an IPS Display for Digital Photography editing... which to get?

Should I just throw the extra $700.00 and get the new 27" iMac instead of just the 27" Cinema Display?

Both are IPS LED Panel right?
