Does this kit also act as a surge suppressor? Is a surge suppressor necessary for a mac? can surge suppressors be piggy-backed 2 or more?
Would piggy backing surge suppressors be more efficient and reduce electrical noise? What would help make the mac last longer in all environments other than not using it at all??? Let me know. thanks

African safari camps use generators, can I recharge my iPad 2 using the correct adapters?
I will be going to South Africa, Bostwana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia, where safari camps use generators for power, and I am told we can recharge camera batteries this way, Canon. Can we also recharge our iPad2 using the correct converter, 220v and adapters? I read that the World Travel Adapter Kit would not work for these area.

Can this be used with non-Apple items (e.g. power cord/charger for a Dell laptop)? I would prefer to just have one set of adapters.
Most power chargers for items already handle multi-voltage -- so my assumption is that I just need something that will convert the existing plug on it to the necessary configuration (e.g. for UK, or for Spain, etc).
