I have Logic Pro 7 and Logic Express 9 is there an advantage to upgrading to Logic 9 ?

If the pro versions have more sounds can I use Logic Express 9 and Logic pro 7 that i already have to together to give me the same result as the Logic Pro 9 ?
If not what would be the upgrade cost ? Thanks .

I use finale notation software with Garritan sounds. If I save my work as midi channels can I then import the file into Logic to improve my sounds?

I got Logic 9 and im about to buy a mic what is all that i need to buy to be able to record on logic 9 and get the best sound possible

I have Garageband on my mac pro. I use it for making techno and trance music. Will i have more sounds and be able to cross fade with logic?

What basic set-up will I need to buy to record live music for Logic 9?

I'm not that computer savvy and most of these questions sound like martian to me! I just want to know what I will need to buy to use Logic Pro 9 so I can figure that into my budget. I play guitar, sing and my husband plays fiddle. How does the live recording get recorded into the computer, via what? Do I need an extra separate recording system first? I have a new Imac. Please help!

How does Logic 7 compare to Logic 9?

I am a current user of Logic 7. I had originally purchased this program for the purposes of film scoring. Prior to having a mac book pro, I used Sonar in Windows. I've had alot of issues with Logic 7 in terms of recording my own material. It randomly deletes lso files~ different tracks are randomly at different volumes... i could go on and on- the biggest drag though is, when I do have a problem, 7 is outdated, and it's difficult to resolve issues. The biggest issue has been saving projects, lso's etc. to an external hard drive- if I move it or save it- it erases the aiff and i have to manually search for it... if it's there at all!!! If anyone has any input I would be very grateful. Christine Hagan

Can I record live "real" instruments?

I need to record my own Piano and Drums but need something to add some layers on and produce releasable sounding material. If I use Logic can I record my own instuments onto it and then doctor the sounds when I've recorded them? I presume I will also need good mics for this?

1) Please name each of the 1700 EXS sampled instruments. All information available via your website and the internet have demonstrated very low quality instruments of which were of an inadequate level for creating professional quality music. There has been no information provided by your website to confirm inclusiveness of any legendary synth models from Oberheim, Yamaha, Casio, Roland, Korg, Access as examples.
2) Has all sound data, inclusive of sound presets been included for each of the 1700 EXS sound samples.

I have Logic Express 8, and would like to upgrade to the full Pro version of Logic 9. Can you do this or do I need to upgrade to Logic Express 9 and then upgrade Logic Studio 9 ?
