How does Logic 7 compare to Logic 9?
I am a current user of Logic 7. I had originally purchased this program for the purposes of film scoring. Prior to having a mac book pro, I used Sonar in Windows. I've had alot of issues with Logic 7 in terms of recording my own material. It randomly deletes lso files~ different tracks are randomly at different volumes... i could go on and on- the biggest drag though is, when I do have a problem, 7 is outdated, and it's difficult to resolve issues. The biggest issue has been saving projects, lso's etc. to an external hard drive- if I move it or save it- it erases the aiff and i have to manually search for it... if it's there at all!!! If anyone has any input I would be very grateful. Christine Hagan

can i transfer my songs & audio files from logic pro 7 into logic studio?
Hey People, Im currently running Logic Pro 7 on my mid 2007 white Macbook with an Apogee Duet interface but will be buying a new 15" Macbook Pro within the next few weeks.
Firstly will Logic Pro 7 run on the new June 2012 Macbook Pros?
Secondly I was probably going to buy Logic Studio along with the new Macbook Pro so in that case can & transfer my songs, audio & midi files from Logic 7 into Logic Studio.......is this possible & is it an easy process?
Also will I have any trouble using my Apogee Duet with the new Macbook Pro?
Thanks- Asked by Laurence B

Does it support looped Midi tracks of different lengths without repeat paste?
Can logic support the looping of MIDI tracks of different length? If I want a 8 bar kick/snare loop with a 16 bar shaker track and a 32 bar hat loop can I do without repeat pasting? I don't want three 32 bar loops (after DAW repeat paste ala cubase) but rather looped MIDI tracks of different lengths. I don't want to have to determine my song length and repeat paste everything ever let alone before I lay my next track over top. Does logic provide this type of non-linear MIDI track looping?

Saving files from Logic Express when upgrading to Logic Studio...
Within the next few weeks I will be upgrading from Logic Express 9 to the Logic Studio package. I'm enquiring to whether I can be able to save and open the files from Logic Express when upgraded, so work can be continued on Studio? If not, are there any ways or alternatives around this?

Can I put the optional content on an external drive, and just retrieve it as needed?
It says the applications only take up 9 GB of space but the optional content takes up 38 GB.
I was thinking of installing the apps on my computer and then putting the optional content on an external drive. So there is not 40 GB of dead space on my internal drive. And then when I would play around with the added content just plug in my external drive.
Would that physically work...if so would it be slow??
...also would it need the added files anytime i use it? Like if I used one on the jam pack voices and then disconnected my drive, the song that I used it with wouldn't work because the jam pack file is stored on a unconnected drive?
Just wondering how that would work out for me?- Asked by Mathew W from Harleysville

Does Logic Studio record vocal tracks well?
I have been fooling around with garageband that came with my new imac. But it sounds thin and very tin like. Now, I am no music engineer... I just wanted to know if Logic studio would offer better vocal sound or do I need to get Pro Tools or something else? Thank you

Export regions as files?
Hi,
Currently using ProTools and thinking of upgrading but now considering other products. My most important requirement is to define regions within an audio file or track and export them as individual files. Does Logic Studio do this?
Thanks,

How do the processing demands of Logic Pro 9 compare to those of Digital Performer 8? Is Logic more efficient in concrete, measurable terms?
I've been using DP for years, but since installing version 8 I've noticed that my eight core Mac Pro is sometimes hitting the wall on CPU with as few as 12 tracks (6 live + 6 virtual instruments) and 3 or 4 plug-ins. This is new behavior and has me considering a switch to Logic. Has anyone done a side by side comparison using the same or similar source material and measured the results in terms of processing demand? Unless Logic has significant performance benefits it's not really worth the effort to make the change.
