How does Logic 7 compare to Logic 9?

I am a current user of Logic 7. I had originally purchased this program for the purposes of film scoring. Prior to having a mac book pro, I used Sonar in Windows. I've had alot of issues with Logic 7 in terms of recording my own material. It randomly deletes lso files~ different tracks are randomly at different volumes... i could go on and on- the biggest drag though is, when I do have a problem, 7 is outdated, and it's difficult to resolve issues. The biggest issue has been saving projects, lso's etc. to an external hard drive- if I move it or save it- it erases the aiff and i have to manually search for it... if it's there at all!!! Im upgrading from logic studio (logic 8) to the new logic studio (logic 9) Is it best to uninstall all old logic studio content before I upgrade?

Will installing the new logic studio over the old logic studio leave unwaunted files/programs on my hard drive? Is it best to uninstall the old logic studio first??

Can you save files to Logic 8? as I have an older G5 running Logic 8 (I have an intel laptop for Logic 9). i.e. Are the files backwards compatible?

7 to 9: Upgrade Installation on a new MacBook Pro?

What do I need to install on the new MacBook Pro before I can run the Logic 9 Upgrade?
Is the dongle with 7 serials enough to run a fresh Logic 9 installation on a fresh MacBook?

Will my logic Pro 9 be compatible with a digidesign control 24 (08 model)?

I would like to use an 08 model digidesign control 24 with my logic pro 9. The web sight and my software itself claims to support all manor of mixers, but I have read different things online.

Anyone been able to do this?

I have Logic 8 Academic on my laptop and desktop. Would there be any problem if I got Express 9 then later upgraded to Pro and Will Pro 9 replace 8?

Will all my old projects in 8 be replaced into 9 and will 8 disapear?
I worry if upgrading from Express will cause a problem with this ?

If i have DP 4.9 and I want to move to Logic 9 will all my music files be compatible? Most of them are midi tracks to date very few audio as of yet.

I want to move from one software too logic 9 but afraid all my tracks from the old software won't transfer over correctly.
