How do I connect a laptop (Windows PC) to my iMac? Can I use the DVI-D Link for this purpose?

I have a work laptop (Windows PC) which I bring home every day and would like to connect to my new iMac 27". Will the DVI-D Link work for this purpose?

Help!!! Mini displayport to DVI-D?

What exactly do I need to connect the mini display port on my Macbook Pro to my monitor that has a DVD-D port?Can I use the mini displayport DVI-I adapter I already have or do I need another kind of adaptor? What kind of cable exactly? Thanks

This has the proper pins for DVI-D Dual-Link. Will this work with a 2048x1152 display?

According to wikipedia, this adapter has the proper pinout for DVI-D Dual-Link... however I've seen reports that it is in fact only Single-Link. My monitor (2k by 1k) is over the threshold for dual-link. Is this pinout misleading?

My mini display port to DVI is a DVI -D not a DVI - I, is there a way to hook up to RGB, SVideo or RCA?

I have a late 2009 macbook pro with a mini display port adaptor to DVI. I believe it is DVI - D. I understand that DVI - D is not backwards compatible to an analog signal. My intent was to purchase a DVI to RGB Component Video or RCA or SVideo converter. However from reading some of the posts it sounds as if my macbook pro is incapable of this conversion, is that the case? If it is possible please direct me to the potential solution to my conversion needs.

Will it work with an monitor with an analogue DVI connection?

The digital DVI connection is already being used but the analogue connection isn't.
