Is there a component A\V cable that can plug into my 3GS I-Phone when it is in the Otter Box Defender case?

What docking adapter do I need for an iPhone 3GS to dock into a Bose SoundDock Series II to ensure the Bose connector does not break?

The Bose SoundDock Series II supports the iPhone and uses Apple's Universal Dock system, however:

1. When inserting the iPhone, it is difficult to align the phone into the connector
2. The iPhone wobbles forward and back when selecting new songs while in the dock (causing stress on the connector.)

Is there an adapter from Apple which eliminates these problems?

what are the numbers on the adapters? Each adapter has a number in the gray area on the underside of the adapter, what is the number on the 3gs 16gb

dock adapter for 16GB 3gs iPhonen.. all the adapters are numbered, what is the number on the dock adapter for the 3GS 16GB iPhone?

Can I use iPhone 3G Universal Dock for iPhone 4?

Today I have an iPhone 3GS 32 GB and the above mentioned dock. As I will switch to iPhone 4, can I continue using the same dock with my new iPhone 4?

Why is adaptor needed

I have a Sony Mini Hi-Fi MHC EC909ip system with docking station for iPods and iPhones and it states to I needed an adaptor despite the iPhone plugging into the docking station and working fine. I asked Sony why adaptor needed and they said if it works, I "probably" don't need one. But from reading these reviews, seems that is not the case. Can somebody please explain why an adaptor is needed?

Does this work with the 32gb version?

I am not too sure if the phone size is different with different drive capacities.
