Missing part in Cinema Display VESA Mount Adapter kit.

I just bought a 24" Cinema Display and then ordered the Cinema Display VESA Mount Adapter to mount it on a egotron arm. I watched a youtube video about how to install the adapter (which included the use of a plastic card (not included in the kit) to release the catch to gain access to the 8 screws and the EXTRA part that mounts on the cinema display (after removing the stand) prior to installing the VESA mount adapter. This piece of metal widens the existing mount from the display and provides the end holes so that the adapter can be mounted. This part was NOT in the kit! The kit is useless without this part. Shouldn't it have been in the box?

Why is this half the price of the iMac VESA mount kit, especially as they are identical?

Is there a similar adapter product for the older plastic iMac (eg. 17" iMac4, core duo)?

The way the stand enters the back of the display looks the same as for the new aluminum ones, but someone has noted that this VESA adapter doesn't work with the old plastic iMacs. The iMac would be way better if it could be adjusted like a generic monitor on an adjustable arm. My desk is all scratched up from the base being spun around 100's of times.

Does this mount work with Apple LED Cinema Display model A1267?

I bought a VESA Mount Adapter together with my Apple Cinema Display (model A1267) in the Apple Store but the mount does not work with the display. Must have bought a wrong version of the mount adapter so now I wont to make sure that I am buying the correct version.
