Does it connect to a 2009 macbook pro?

My friend has the black 2007 or 2008 macbook, I'm not sure. However he has a VGA adapter but it wont fit in my 2009 Macbook pro. Will this connect to my laptop, or only the older ones?

Does it work in reverse? I use a PC Tablet for work & I want to convert the VGA output to a mini displayport mode for input into an iMac 27.

I currently use a KVMP switch right now for my multiple PCs with a 20" vga monitor. i want to use the iMac 27" as my main desktop monitor now. I can work out the keyboard and mouse issues by using two sets, but the video is a BIG issue. Apple implies a device like this should work. adapter to connect a CRT monitor to 24" iMac

I want to create a primary - secondary monitor setup. I want to connect a CRT monitor to my 24" iMac (2009 model) so that iMac is the primary monitor and CRT monitor is the secondary. Which is the adapter to use for this purpose?
