How does the Quadro 4000 card compare to the ATI 5870 / GTX 285 for EVERY DAY usage?
While the benefits to CUDA accelerated applications is clear, or mercury apps, or other specific, accelerated applications, I wonder how the 4000 would fare in 'general' use, including games.
It would seem, since the clock, memory, and throughput are much lower than GTX 285 or Radeon 5870, it would potentially be quite a bit slower in those applications. I don't mind spending a premium for a card that can raise my productivity in work apps, but also like it to be good for the evening R&R. Will I trade down 'recreational' performance by getting this card to speed up accelerated productivity apps?- Asked by Daniel O from South Pasadena

How well does this work worth rhino, vray, and maya and in bootcamp?
I have the ATI Radeon HD 5870 and was wondering how much of an upgrade this is in these softwares as well as the possibility and configuration of having both the 5870 and the Quadro 4000.

In terms of power usage, is it safe to have two Quadro 4000 cards in the x16 slots and one Geforce 120 in an x4 slot?
I want to reserve the Quadro 4000 cards exclusively for CUDA, and use the Geforce 120 for display. There is sufficient space and power connectors, I am just unsure if it would be drawing too much power.

I have two 30" Cinema Displays running to my 2009 Mac Pro (the one with 4 ram slots not 8). Can the nVidia QUADRO 4000 2GB support both monitors?
I am upgrading my graphics card but am afraid it will not support BOTH of my 30" cinema displays. Can I run both of these displays off of this one card?
If so what dongles should I get?- Asked by Elliot C from Brooklyn

I have 2 NEC monitors with Spectraview-II, these are optimized using Display Ports. How should I connect a 5770 and 4000?
I am unsure of how to proceed for best results. 5.1 Mac Pro, 2 video cards 4000 and 5770. Dual Nec monitors PA241W-BK-R that require Display Port connection for best performance/calibration.
4000 has 1 DP, 5770 has 2.
What happens if I use one DP from each card? Would it be better to use the 2 from the 5770 and if I do will the 4000 be in use or just sitting there doing nothing.
Should I scrap both cards and get a 5870?
Apple sells both cards, many people have more than 1 monitor and require the best performance. This should not be a difficult question, but it is almost impossible to get the answer, even calling AppleCare didn't help.

I did see that this card is certified for MacPro 3,1 and up. But can somebody confirm that it won't work in a MacPro 2,1?
That seems to be true for the Radeon 5870, that's also certified for 3,1 and up, but I have seen several examples of people running it in their 2,1.
