If your Brother Printer supports networking via ethernet you can definitely do what you ask. I have a Brother MFC-7820N connected to my Time Capsule in this very way.
Once connected go to System Preferences>Print & Fax. Use the + button to add a printer and your Brother should should up as a network printer. If it's a fairly recent model all drivers should load up and the printer be ready for use almost instantly.
