Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic

Will these work as hands free earphones for any phone?

I basically want: a mic to record onto my classic i pod, ear phones to listen to my i pod and earphones/mic for talking on my old cell phone... will this serve all three purposes?

    on some most phones yes. the mic will definitely work with any phone but i'm not sure about the click control buttons. If you own a blackberry most of the controls will work.
