Will the Time Capsule solve my problem with my scratch disk being full?
I am a photographer and i am having issues with my scratch disk on my Mac Book pro, which is effecting my editing on photoshop as i am unable to save my work due to the disk being full and sometimes not even able to open up photoshop due to it being full. I bought a 500gb portable hard drive and set that up in time capsule as added back up but still the problem occurs. Would the Time Capsule solve this issue for me or is there something else i need to do that perhaps i haven't done yet?

Time machine doesn't give you space. It backs up what's on your Hard Drive.
You could buy a Time Capsule to backup your stuff and use the 500gb portable drive as a simple file drive - not a backup drive.
Or you could use the time capsule as a hard drive - however - Anything you save on the time capsule and only on the time capsule will be lost if it dies. If you choose the above option, using your 500gb drive as a file drive, the time capsule will back that up as well as your internal drive.

Not at all. Time Capsule and Time Machine are only backup solutions. Neither one will provide you with any additional work space.

Save your future completed work to an external hard drive, plus now move over your already completed work from your MBP to the external, as well. This will free-up plenty of internal MBP space for your scratch disk use.
