Yup it did! Thank you Moshi!
Was initially told at our local reseller that only video would be pushed through the HDMI. Good thing I had the chance to read one of the support threads here (though I couldn't locate it anymore, though), wherein I was advised first to check if my MacBook is of early or mid 2010. After going through the prompts of clicking the apple, then punching through the "About this Mac" and clicking the "More Info" and then the "Audio", I found out that MacBook Pro's mini display port is capable of pushing video and audio to the HDMI via the Moshi mini display to HDMI adapter after seeing the "HDMI/MiniDisplay" displayed there.
Works swell with my 47" LG LCD. And the audio sounds great as well. So if you're in doubt as to what release your Mac is, follow the instructions above and you'll know whether audio can be channeled out through the HDMI.

Yes, I can confirm that this adapter supports both audio pass-through and video over the single DP -> HDMI connection. I have connected my mid-2010 15" MacBook Pro to my 50" LG Plasma via this adapter and a 10' HDMI extension cable and it works like a charm!
I had to return another device which didn't support the audio pass-through, and was also fidgety with even getting video to work. This Moshi adapter is the one you want I think.
