Will Airport Extreme Base Station connect wirelessly to a DirectTV DVR box to access the DirectTV Video on Demand downloading service?

DirectTv has a video on demand service to download movies to the DVR box for viewing later. They want >$89 for their wireless kit.

Wouldn't an Airport Extreme Base Station do the same thing if I connected it by Ethernet cable to the DirectTV DVR box, and it then find my wirelessly (preferred over ethernet) connected DSL Modem?

Or would I need an Airport Express only, or, both?
Thanks,

  • Short answer is no BUT DirecTv just came out with their Home Connect service where they will run the internet connection thru the dish. Just call them for an install. Equipment is called DECA.
