Old: Macbook Pro core 2 duo 17"

New: Macbook Pro Quad core i7

    Well, it all depends on 'From' what type of firewire connector (Probably a 'A' on the Macbook core 2 duo) to a 'B' on the Quad Core I7. Check the Firewire connector types before ordering. This looks like the proper cable.
