what operating system do i need for the quickbooks 2012 for mac, i currently have 10.5.8?

Under the compatibility section it says Mac OS X v10.6 or v10.7. So for you, you'd need to call into the sales team to order Snow Leopard 10.6 so that you could use this with your computer. Hope this helps-
