What if my components (ie cable box, stereo, DVD player) are in a cabinet or other room?

  • If your equipment is in a cabinet, you probably already have an IR repeater. This is needed because IR (infrared light) signals require line of sight communication. The IR repeater transmits (“repeats”) the signals to other IR emitters inside the cabinet to control your components. Peel will work well with this configuration.

However, some cabinet owners use an RF (radio frequency) based solution to control their components in an enclosed cabinet. Peel will is not compatible with RF based solutions to communicate with components in a cabinet.

IR repeaters are available at specialty electronic and audio equipment stores. An Internet search for “IR repeater” will show many options for purchasing an IR repeater.
