No different than any other Bluetooth transmission from your iPad, such as to a set of Bluetooth stereo headphones. The Zooka itself is powered by its own battery that can be recharged through a male USB to male mini USB cable that's furnished. Charge the Zooka through any standard powered computer USB port or a 12V or 120V USB charger. Your iPad or iPod charger will work just fine. Zooka battery seems to last a long time and keeps its charge for at least a couple weeks when not in use.
