Using Airport Extreme, can I set a maximum data quota for guest users? i.e. Guest is restricted to 100m/b per day

  • No, there is no ability to do that.

    You can restrict the amount of time a guest has access to the network, or you can restrict access to a particular time of each day. You can also setup the guest network to operate as a slower speed network. (By providing a slow enough network for guests, you might discourage their using it for downloading. You might even want to use older, slower equipment to setup a separate guest network.)

    However, since you would still not be able to separate a guest's downloading activity from web browsing activity, there would be no accurate way to determine in advance how much data would be used during a certain amount of time.

    Theoretically, a clever user would use a faster but time restricted network for their downloading, and then use a slower, unlimited time network for their much slower web browsing.
