Upgrading X-Serve HDD's in the Raid

We have a late 06 Intel X-Serve and want to increase our storage capacity, the X-Serve is running the latest software. Currently it has 3 x 700GB drives installed that give 1.34 TB storage in the raid configuration.

Plan is to install 3 x 2 TB drives to increase this.

My question is when upgrading the drives is it simply a case of removing one of the old drives at a time and swapping in the new drive, allowing the raid to rebuild then moving onto the next drive?

Sorry for the simple questions but I can find heaps of info on the physical replacing of the drives but nothing about how the raid rebuilds.

Thanks.
