The Canon T1i is certified for Mac and Windows. The Nikon D90 is certified only for Windows. What does this mean, and why is it important?

This affects you in several ways. First of all Canon works seamlessly with MAC, no third party apps and in most cases, no need to even install software. Canon will allow to you to REMOTE SHOOT the camera as well. In other words, hook your T1i to your mac and w/the software you get a LIVE screenshot on your mac of what is on the Camera and adjust accordingly, even take pics that save to your MAC (video will save to SD card). Nikon doesn't offer that option as far as I'm concerned... Good luck!

  • It means nothing. The Nikon D90 works seamlessly with the Mac, including importing RAW files directly into iPhoto and Aperture without additional software. Canon may have a deal with Apple as Apple appears to sell Canon exclusively.
