Seagate 500GB FreeAgent GoFlex Slim Hard Drive which has a usb 2 be used with a MacBook Pro with usb 3 technology? do you have to use thunderbolt?

    No your don't need to use thunderbolt. Of course thunderbolt and FireWire are much faster for transferring data, but the USB 3 ports on a MacBook Pro are automatically back compatible to USB 2.
