Portability when hiking

Will I be able to carry these in a canvas bag, and when needed, pull one out to hold in hand in order to play bird songs? (For those wondering, playing a particular song will attract the bird you're trying to see.) I'm guessing I don't need to pull both out of the bag to be loud enough. Bottom line: Will this be too cumbersome?
