Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic

is the left ear on the Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic louder than the right?

I've gone thru 3 pairs of these, and something like this inevitably happens—I don't remember if it's been the same side every time, but the signal to one side always gets degraded after some months of use...

I've been using these earphones for years, and have gone through three of them (wear and tear - use them for hours every day) and have never experienced unbalanced audio.
If you're using headphones with an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad, go in to Settings > General > Accessibility > Scroll down to the Left - Right slider and adjust audio balance there. If using with a Mac, go in to System Preferences > Sound > Output (tab). This sort of degradation is unusual and you'd be very well entitled to a replacement if you visit your nearest Apple retailer.
