    Yes. The ATI Radeon HD 5770 is approved for Final Cut Pro X.
    There are other recently released card options for your MacPro, however. I own the 5770, as well as the NVIDIA GTX 680. There is no question that the GTX 680 is far superior. Apple suports the GTX 680 natively in 10.8.3 also.

    To name a couple:

    EVGA 02G-P4-3682-KR GeForce GTX 680 MAC 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 Video Card - NewEgg product Item# N82E16814130912

    The requirements for Final Cut Pro X are:

    * Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor or better.
    * 2GB of RAM (4GB of RAM recommended).
    * OpenCL-capable graphics card or
    Intel HD Graphics 3000 or later.
    * 256MB of VRAM (512MB of VRAM recommended).
    * Display with 1280-by-768 resolution or higher.
    * OS X v10.6.8 or OS X v10.7.5 or OS X v10.8.3 or later.
    * 2.4GB of disk space.

    " Mac Pro - Graphics performance that's up to 5x faster.

    Mac Pro delivers the fastest Mac graphics ever for editing in Final Cut Pro, creating 3D graphics in Motion, or processing RAW images in Aperture.

    You will have to fix the http and the dot after the apple, for the link to work.
