The a-frame is freely adjustable, as the rubberised feet keep the legs from slipping. When fully open, the legs do not click into place - they simply cannot be moved further apart. The unit is very sturdy though - i have used it with the iPad screen at all angles depending on what I'm doing / watching, and the stand still feels rock solid.

  • The angle of the stand is not adjustable, so either it's open (A frame), or closed (flat).
Also, when it's closed, there is no locking mechanism.
