    Yes, there is a cumbersome procedure for setting aside space on the drive for separate storage. However, using half of a 1TB Time Capsule for a single Time Machine backup, the largest Mac hard drive you'd be able to backup would be approximately 200GB. (200GB x 2.5 = 500GB) Therefore, not room for proper backup of a second Mac.

    To gain additional space for a second Time Machine backup, you'd need to attach an external USB drive to the Time Capsule.

    Obviously, it would be best to use Time Capsule for your Time Machine backups, and use an attached USB drive for your long-term storage.
