Increase in electric bill
I noticed that the install instructions are to turn on the switch and keep it on all the time. Do current users find that they have a higher electric bill after installing these bulbs?

The switch is on, but the bulb isn't. You use the app to turn the lights on/off. They can also be turned on/off with the switch. I believe I read somewhere that the standby power use was equivalent to a couple of AA batteries lasting a couple of years. In other words, very minimal.
You could actually see a decrease in your electric bill since these LED bulbs only use about 8W of power compared to a regular bulb of 50 or 60 watts. Also these bulbs have an average life of approx 25 years.- Answered by Michael J from Anchorage
