I'm about to purchase "LaCie d2 Quadra v3 Hard Disk 1 TB eSATA/FireWire800/USB 3.0. What's the difference in the "Thunderbolt version? ASAP!!!

The Thunderbolt version has no ports other than Thunderbolt, therefore can only be used by Thunderbolt capable computers. Thats the down side. The up side is that Thunderbolt is a significantly faster interface than all the others put together. But just because the interface is extremely fast, it doesn't mean that all your transfers are going to fly. Extremely fast transfers require very high speed drives at either end to see real advantages. If you are going to get the Quadra, and you are concerned about speed, get the 2TB, it will be faster than the 1TB.

Speed! The Thunderbolt connection has a transfer rate approximately 8 times faster than The FireWire connection, and 20 times faster than USB 2.0
