If itunes & Iphoto are on a hard drive linked to the airport extreme can i stream music and edit photos at the same time? Would USB limit this?
Would the USB connectivity of the hard drive limit me from saving files, while listening to music? I plan on putting my iphoto and itunes library on the external drive (along with my other files) and using it as NAS for my two computers. I though USB was 1 directional so I wasn't sure if this would work. It would be nice to be able to save files to the drive, while listening to media stored on the external hard drive. Apple, why u no make firewire port on APX?

I've done that very thing with a Time Capsule and the performance is defiantly slower than running iPhoto on the local HD or by USB connection connected to a computer. Frustratingly so... it does work, but patience is a must.
I think that just using iTunes by itself is ok, it streams fine, but can be a little jumpy when playing Movies or TV shows when multiple connections occur, perfectly fine when playing back music though.
