If i use the arc will i be able to close it and use my tv as the monitor?

I want to be able to come home and use my mac closed on a larger monitor like my tv but will i be able to do that?

    Yes, as long as the Macbook is plugged into a power outlet and connected to an external display including a TV it will enter 'closed clamshell mode' allowing it to effectively function as a Desktop, all ports still function as normal.

    This is based on MacBook Pro 15 inch mid 2010 attached to HD LCD TV via HDMI

  • Yes. Connecting a MB to your TV's HDMI connector will work with the lid closed. I have used it this way many times(with a 2008 MacBook Pro 17"), via DVI-D to HDMI cable.
