You can use the Jambox as a speaker for your iPod (using bluetooth or the included 3.5mm cable), MacBook Pro and your iPod Touch.

To update the software on the Jambox it (the Jambox) must be cable-connected to a computer that has internet access.

    So...
Jambox + iPod = speaker use only
Jambox + iPod Touch = Speaker and Speakerphone (use of mic)
Jambox + iPad = Speaker and speakerphone (use of mic)
Jambox + Newer model MacBook, iMac = speaker, speakerphone (use of mic), charging, and software updates (if computer has internet access.)

  • Yes, as long as you've got a Bluetooth capable Touch.

  • Documentation with the Jambox says that you must be connected via USB-to-computer with internet access to use the Jaawbone Updater.

As a user--that is the only way.
