I will be using the LED Cinema Display for document processing 70% of the time. Does the reported glare make this a problem?

Not for me. I turn down the brightness to about half when working on docs. Glare tends to be a problem only when there are lots of deep blacks on the screen, such as in movies, and then I turn up the brightness and darken the room anyway, so it doesn't bother me. Opinions tend to run to extremes on this matter.
Ultimately, for docs it is a great screen because you can have three pages side by side with size 12 at 150% and see the entire page in each case, and the high resolution renders fonts beautifully. I can imagine how good it would be to have a 'retina' class display at this size, but those are a long way off for consumers.
